First Annual Training Seminar

a Roaring Success

Over 40 professionals from around the U.S., Canada, and Germany recently participated in a hands-on training seminar focusing on using side scan sonar and sub-bottom sonar software. The 2-day event held in Annapolis, Maryland was hosted by Chesapeake Technology, Inc. (CTI), an up and coming leader in developing software for the underwater survey industry.

“This was a truly interactive workshop,” explained John Gann, CTI’s Vice President of Software Development and facilitator at the November 2–3, 2005 event. “Almost all those attending shared real-world techniques for utilizing these powerful software applications. Tips and solutions were shared from clients who have developed and implemented them in their own day-to-day use.”

Gann, along with presenters from Blacklaser Learning, Klein Associates Edgetech, and some U.S. Government clients gave formal presentations sharing key information on practical uses for the software.

“The workshop also provided SonarWiz and SonarWeb users the opportunity to guide development of future CTI releases by passing on their experiences, needs, and preferences directly to us,” said Gann, “This adds to the value of the event.”

CTI, located in Mountain View, California, hosted the event in conjunction with their regional representatives, International Industries, Inc., based in Annapolis, MD. International Industries, Inc. is a full-line provider of hydrographic and Oceanographic Equipment.

“Next years event is already in the planning stages,” stated Gann, “If you are using CTI’s SonarWiz and SonarWeb software you will benefit greatly from the 2006 event.” Details on next year’s seminar will be announced soon.
